Men of the Ogun state police command have arrested two ladies for alleged acts act of wickedness and maltreatment against a two -year- old girl at Ago – Owu village of Itori town in the Ewekoro local government area of the state.
The ladies simply identified as Sade and Elizabeth allegedly gagged the mouth, tied the two feet as well as the two hands of the little girl to the back and consequently dumped her in an unoccupied room adjoining a 12 room bungalow apartment of the building located at 45 Lagos – Abeokuta expressway, Ago – Owu village in Itori.
National Mirror gathered that one of the lady suspects, Sade is into a love relationship with the father of the two year-old girl and was also cohabiting with the family in the Ago – Owu village.
Neighbours at the village also told journalists that the baby’s biological mother had been ill for a long time and had been taken to an undisclosed location for treatment by relatives, while her daughter was left with her husband in the village.
The agonising crying of the baby was however, said to have attracted one of the neighbours identified as Iya Lati who later raised the alarm.
The police from the Itori Divisional Headquarters, who later arrived the scene however, rescued the baby after forcing the door of the room where she was abandoned opened.
When contacted, the command’s Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Muyiwa Adejobi confirmed the arrest of the two suspects, adding that the case would be transferred to the Command’s headquarters in Eleweeran, Abeokuta for further investigation.
