360MEDICS
IF YOU HAVE ALWAYS THOUGHT STAPHYLOCOCCUS AND THE LIKE COULD STAY IN THOSE BOTTLES DRUG-TRADERS SHOW YOU IN BUSES, THINK AGAIN. BENITA USES HER FIRST EVER EDITION OF 360MEDICS, TO EXPLAIN THIS MISCONCEPTION. A MUST READ!
In the bus, Staphylococcus aureus, in the market its Escherichia coli, in the streets it might be one thing or another.
Everywhere, the announcement of these guys go on and we all wonder. They show
us something inside a bottle and tell us its either Staph or E.coli. We all
become 'kujad and majad' (according to my English teacher in school back
in the days, referring to being terrified), and even more so, easily convinced
to buy drugs and potions that we don’t really know anything about. Have we ever
really stopped to think about what the 'guys' inside those bottles are? I bet
more than 50% of us have never done that. I was once a victim though not when
it came to buying those drugs oh. I never believed they were real and even up
till now, I can't really think of a reason why I didn’t believe they were real.
What really are those 'guys' inside
those bottles? The dudes who parade them claim they are the MICROORGANISMS that
make up Staph or E.coli. I bet some of you are surprised. I was surprised too when I
heard that as well. So before we 'agree to agree', can we give some time to the
understanding of what microorganisms are? Alright. Microorganisms are tiny minute microscopic
living organisms which can only be seen with the aid of a microscope. A
microscope is an equipment which can magnify any tiny organism to 100 times its
original size. Microorganisms can be found in the environment as a whole and
also in all areas of the body like the skin, teeth, mouth anywhere you can
think about. They are ubiquitous, i.e. they are everywhere. Without these
microorganisms, life on earth as we know it may not be possible. Their
uniqueness and their often unpredictable nature has made them likely candidates
for solving particularly different problems in life sciences and other fields
as well. Most people are of the opinion that the only things microorganisms are
capable of doing is just to cause diseases and infection. THAT IS ABSOLUTELY
NOT TRUE. It is an undisputable fact that it is microorganism (bacteria) that
causes diseases, infections and illness to us like typhoid, malaria even cough
and also in the spoilage of food and beverages. It should also be noted that it
is this same microorganisms that perform a lot of good activities. For e.g., we
all eat food but have we ever stopped to think about what happens to that food
we have taken into our stomach that makes it give us strength and energy? Well
to answer the question, they are being acted upon or broken down by microorganisms
before being transported down to different parts of our bodies where they will
perform their different duties. The drugs we take too are also produced with
microorganisms. For an illness to be diagnosed, there has to be a sound understanding
of the microorganism that causes such illness ie. understanding its mode of
action (how they work). The various ways in which microorganisms have been used
these past years to advance medical technology, human and animal health, food
processing, food safety and food quality cannot be over emphasized. Humans
cannot live/survive without the aid of microorganisms but without us, they’d
probably be just fine. A sound understanding of these microorganisms forms the
basis of effective infection control.
However, a question returns us back
to where we started - how can tiny microorganisms which cannot be seen with
bare eyes, be put in bottles? If they are actually Staph or E.coli (which are microorganism) how would they be
put into bottles? The obvious truth drawn from the explanation we have gotten from
what microorganisms are, is that the content of such bottles are not and cannot
be Staph or E.coli. While this may not have a direct answer as to if the drug it is sold
with is actually genuine and could heal Staph or E.coli, if should really raise a serious question as
why the desperation has to lead to misleading the unknowing masses with lies. I
have simply come to the conclusion that they are only applying the bottled
content as a ploy to convince people that they have drugs that can cure the
said diseases. You should know how that works, 'if I could show the disease,
then I surely could show you the cure.' Generally speaking anyways, we just
have to be careful about the kind of drugs we take in order to cure certain
infections. The best thing to do if one is having any signs of infection or
disease is to go to a hospital or laboratory to be properly diagnosed. The
doctors and the laboratory scientists are in the best position to recommend
drugs for us so we won’t make the mistake of taking drugs that might endanger
our lives. Expect me back, next week. Thanks for reading!
