A US woman was surprised when she gave birth to a baby girl who tipped the scales at almost 14 pounds - that's more than 6kg.
Mia Yasmin Hernandez was born by caesarean section in Colorado, weighing 13 pounds, 13 ounces. She was flown to a hospital outside Denver because she had low glucose levels and trouble breathing.
Her father said she's doing well and the family hoped to take her home soon.
KUSA-TV in Denver reported her mother, Alisha Hernandez, was expecting a 7-pound baby.
Mia's father, Francisco Garcia, said the newborn's size shocked everyone, including hospital staff.
"They were like, 'Whoa!' They opened their eyes like they've never seen a baby like that."
Four older sisters were welcoming Mia but they were unlikely to be joined by any more with their mother announcing "I'm done!"
All the couple's other children were all born at normal weights and even the combined weight of their twins at birth was lower than Mia, the Daily Mail reported. See more pics below:
