FEAR II
By noon he
decided to try her line again feeling like he had built up the courage to talk
to her and see how she was going to receive him. He rehearsed a few lines on
how to start up the conversation.
"Hey B," he set off on his
first attempt. "It's me Alex, how have you been?....nooo!" That
wasn't making much sense. He was to try again.
"Hey dear, it's me your
long lost heartthrob....defintely nooo!" Another.
"Hello Ibukun, it's me, Alex. Long
time no hear..... ahhh whatever!" he didn't know how to go about it, but
he needed to strategize, think of a way of fighting his fears. He had a problem
to solve and he needed to do it soon. However, he did dial her number
eventually.

The meeting with the Alade's was
finally over.
"Such a cute couple they were",
she thought in her head, even though they didn't know how to make a decision
without first arguing. Turning out of the stadium road, heading to shiita she
met a little traffic.
"I don't need this today, I have
a lot to do", she said . She needed to get to the
mall to get some foodstuffs and meet the wedding planner. Finally, turning into
the mall's garage, she parked her car and entered the mall. While shopping, her
phone rang. She looked at it, no caller i.d, she picked at the 3rd ring though,
"hello....... hello" she said.
"Ibukun..... she heard from the
other side of the line, and then the line went dead instantly.
Her heart jumped, no one really knew
her by that name only very few people. Her mind started racing. "Who could
it be.... or is it.....? naaaa it can't be." she enquired rhetorically. "Or
would it be mum or dad? But they can't call me with an unknown number." She
sighed hoping all was well with them. She subsequently made a mental note to
call and check up on them later. Nonetheless, another name kept popping into
her head. It has been long since she heard from him or seen him.
"It can't be him", she was
forced to refute. "It just can't be him. No one has heard from him in a
decade and he just can't appear now."
She shook the thoughts off her head
and focused on her shopping. When she was done, she moved the items to the car
and headed for the wedding planner. She needed to know how the activities
towards preparations were going for the big day and what needed to be settled. Herself
and her partner-to-be Bosun, intend to have a perfect wedding ceremony. While
she drove, Bosun called her.
"Hey sweetheart," he said
once she picked
"Hi boogie. How's your
day going?"
"Fine baby and yours?"
"It's going quite ok, I'm on my
way to see the wedding planner. Wish to know how far the preparations are going"
"Ok then sweets. Call me when you are off the steering"
"Ok then sweets. Call me when you are off the steering"
"Sure! later. Ciao." she
hung up.
Just then, remembering she had to
call her parents, she chose to dial them that instant. Her mum's number went
through but without a response. She tried it again and it was the same - no
response. She then tried her dad's but his was completely unavailable. "Maybe
they are busy," she said to herself. "I will have to ring them up
later."
