WHAT A NICE WAY TO OPEN THE WEEK'S BOX

Hello talkative,

I am sending you this mail just to encourage you. I am happy with your blog and I know a lot should do too. Looking forward to your next topic on 'the president's kitchen'. Bravo.

OKUPE IRKS ME

Gooday ppl,

I don't know if this belongs to the P.O. BOX, but I just want to ask if anyone else also saw Dr. Doyin Okupe on CNN last night? It is becoming very disgusting how these public officials go on air on international channels to spread white lies? We here in Nigeria know what our Police and military look like. We also know what kind of treatment one can expect of them. Therefore going on-air to paint these two outfits as angels only stinks of hypocrisy. Sorry if it is not meant for the P.O. Box but I feel satisfied having dropped this burden.

IS U.S STILL IN NIGERIA?

Hey,

I am posting in my mail after looking up your current poll. I just want to ask, are Americans still in the search for our girls? I mean, it is surprising how the fare about their coming and eventual stay has died down. in fact, I have always viewed the U.S. intervention in Nigeria to stop Boko Haram as a waste of time and effort. They have already tried to root out other terrorist movements in Afghanistan and Pakistan, and all that has done is make their numbers grow. Why are these movements growing? Because by killing off individuals in their organization, you are creating new martyrs for their movement. Simple. So can we move on to something better?

GUNS ARE JUST WAY TOO CHEAP TO COME BY

Hi 360tt folks,

Just a word on your shooting article. The fact that any 21 year old can walk into a gun show and pick up considerably destructive firearms is the first red flag. The second red flag is that they can walk into any school and shoot up as many people as they see with a legally purchased firearm.

YOU CAN ONLY KILL IF YOU OWN A GUN

Hi 360,

I just read your post on the possible increase of public shootings and I think it is spot on. However, I do not feel your recommendations on how to contain the growth is very binding. I am not an American (I am Nigerian) but i know that if you do not own weapons, you cannot kill with them. Weapons are a large danger, people shouldn't own any firearms at all. Only people that work for jobs that include a weapon, and even there we have to limit and test their possession. Or at least limit as far as it can go, and do tests all the time if someone owns a gun. Shootings usually happen because of depression, terrorism or bad psychological states and those people cant own weapons.

WE ARE ALL DOING WRONG

Hello,

I have just seen your post on terrorism and mass shooting/killing. Did you just say you can effectively 'wage war' on a form of tactics? Terrorism is nothing more than a certain way of going about things; the groups the US employs (The military and CIA, not just temporarily allied foreign paramilitary groups) to fight the supposed 'war on terror' are almost as much 'terrorist groups' as the people they fight, given the measures they are allowed to use to do this. As well, the supposed 'war on terror' seems to be a very handy way of 'justifiably' dispelling civil liberties and, in some instances, basic human rights, which is complete s**t in and of itself.

TERROR FIGHT MUST BE HANDLED WITH CARE

Hi 360talkatives,

Wish to begin by saying that I've been following your posts for a while now. While I enjoy most of your topics and feed, i believe your site can still benefit from more diversification. Now, straight to my reason for writing in. I wish to talk about the current war against terrorism. I do support the moves by most countries to fight terror, but before waging war on terror, we should continuously recognize that there are far more ways for it to go wrong than for it to go right. We cannot properly use the military until we learn to think outside the military. We should globally and aggressively wage an economic war against poverty, an information war against ignorance, and an intelligence war against terrorist operations.

DON'T FIGHT PUBLIC SHOOTING AT ALL

Hi,

I do disagree on adopting any system to combat what you have called a rise on public shooting. I say so because of the results we are seeing from our war against terror. All we ever did on the war on terror is destroy countless communities, destroyed our budget, and left the middle east devastated, hateful ,and dangerous. In the meantime this war on terror is plunging us even closer to financial collapse and have basically taken a crap on the bill of rights. Terrorists are either over exaggerated or made up. I think the government posses more of a threat. This does nothing but benefit the military complex and waste human life. Do you see any benefit here?

SMOKING IS SERIOUS TALK IN THE U.S

Hey there,

I needed a platform to air my thoughts on a current point of controversy in the States. Ban on smoking. I am against a ban on smoking because for one, yes it is an unhealthy act, but only because whoever does it does it so much that it becomes unhealthy. There is nicotine inside it that makes it become and addictive substance. Now, if the nicotine was taken out of the cigarettes then it would not be much of an issue because their would not be excessive smoking habits that grow out of reason like a pack a day. Smoking itself isn't bad. My father smokes one, two, or three cigarettes a year to keep a balance with his health. It's the nicotine that makes you addicted to it, not the smoking itself. We should instead have a ban on nicotine inside tobacco, cigarettes, cigars, et cetera.
